Overview

• AI2050 Program (2024-2025): series of in-person and online courses delivered in collaboration with the H3D Foundation, targeting a total of >60 in person participants (Zambia, Ghana and Kenya) and > 200 online attendees. Funded by Schmidt Sciences AI2050 Senior Fellowship (Prof. Kelly Chibale)

• AI2050 Collaboration Fund (2025): extension of the AI2050 Program in collaboration between the H3D Foundation, the H3D Centre, Ersilia and MIT (Prof. Connor Coley) targeting H3D scientists. Funded by Schmidt Sciences AI2050 Senior Fellowship Collaboration Fund (Prof. Kelly Chibale & Prof. Connor Coley)

• Merck Schistosoma Grant at IMPM (2025): course delivered at IMPM (Yaoundé, Cameroon) as part of a 3-series of bioinformatics development program for schistosoma research with the support of Merck.

• UB-CeDD ML for Drug Discovery (2023&2024): courses delivered at the University of Buea (Buea, Cameroon) for the newly founded Centre for Drug Discovery. Funded by the Calestous Juma Fellowship (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) awarded to Prof. Ntie-Kang.

• AI4DD in Latin America (2025): course delivered in partnership with the University of Córdoba (Córdoba, Argentina) and the University of Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, Argentina) for argentinan scientists.

• Event Fund (2023): course delivered in partnership with the H3D Centre in Cape Town (South Africa), convening for the first time 30 researchers from 7 African countries for AI/ML training in drug discovery. Funded by the Wellcome Trust via the Event Fund series (Code for Science and Society)
