Ersilia privacy notice

Privacy notice for the Ersilia Open source Initiative

The Ersilia Open Source Initiative (Ersilia) is a non-profit organisation incorporated as a Foundation in Spain (G44657393). This privacy policy explains how our organisation uses the personal data we collect from our users and collaborators.

We adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) in the current version of the OJ L 119, 04.05.2016; cor. OJ L 127, 23.5.2018.

Ersilia keeps its privacy policy under regular review and places any updates on this web page. This privacy policy was last updated on 1st January 2024.

What data do we collect?

Ersilia collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (name, email address)

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Ersilia with the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register to receive our monthly newsletter

  • Sign up to our volunteer list

  • Make an individual donation and identify it for tax purposes

Ersilia does not receive your data indirectly from any other source.

How will we use your data?

Ersilia collects your data so that we can:

  • Keep you updated on the non-profit advancements via a monthly newsletter sent by email

  • Contact you if suitable volunteer opportunities in the area you have specified arise

Ersilia will never share your data with any partner companies without asking permission first.

How do we store your data?

Ersilia securely stores your data in the provided mailing server MailChimp and AirTable backend.

Marketing

We do not use your data for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?

Ersilia would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access - You have the right to request Ersilia for copies of your personal data.

  • The right to rectification - You have the right to request that Ersilia correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Ersilia to complete information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure - You have the right to request that Ersilia erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing - You have the right to request that Ersilia restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing - You have the right to object to Ersilia's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability - You have the right to request that Ersilia transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
